In addition to the phenomenology of high energy nuclear collisions at the CERN-LHC and BNL-RHIC, we are involved with physics studies for planned next generation DIS experiments. We use weak coupling QCD renormalization group equations to understand the partonic structure of hadrons and nuclei. Important specialties of our group are using this information to understand the formation of a thermalized quark-gluon plasma, and modeling its subsequent evolution with relativistic hydrodynamics.<\/p>\n<p>Our research is supported by the Academy of Finland (AoF) and previously also by the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/cordis.europa.eu\/project\/rcn\/203238_en.html\" data-linktype=\"external\" data-val=\"http:\/\/cordis.europa.eu\/project\/rcn\/203238_en.html\">European Research council<\/a> (see ERC Consolidator project <a href=\"https:\/\/cordis.europa.eu\/project\/id\/101123801\">Shining Light on Saturated Gluons<\/a> 2024-2029 and the previous ERC project <a href=\"http:\/\/users.jyu.fi\/~tulappi\/erc\/\" data-linktype=\"external\" data-val=\"http:\/\/users.jyu.fi\/~tulappi\/erc\/\">CGCglasmaQGP<\/a>). <span lang=\"EN-US\">We form the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jyu.fi\/en\/research-groups\/centre-of-excellence-in-quark-matter\" data-val=\"7fc81eeac0e94e1e83331d815626d192\" data-linktype=\"internal\">AoF Centre of Excellence in Quark Matter<\/a>\u00a0together with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jyu.fi\/en\/research-groups\/the-alice-experiment\" data-val=\"908c0be6f4f84ba29e393d7c25689ca4\" data-linktype=\"internal\">ALICE group at JYFL<\/a> in 2022-2029.\u00a0<\/span>Our research is\u00a0also\u00a0part of the <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hip.fi\/research\/theory-programme\/phases-of-strongly-interacting-matter\/\" data-linktype=\"external\" data-val=\"https:\/\/www.hip.fi\/research\/theory-programme\/phases-of-strongly-interacting-matter\/\">Phases of Strongly Interacting Matter<\/a> <\/em>theory project (2023-2028) \u00a0at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hip.fi\/\">Helsinki Institute of Physics<\/a>\u00a0(HIP) (see also <a class=\"external-link\" href=\"http:\/\/users.jyu.fi\/~tulappi\/qcd\/\">previous<\/a>\u00a02014-2022 project).\u00a0 We are in a close contact with the QCD groups in Helsinki.
